Pop Culture's Effect
Pop culture was a big part of the civil rights movement. Most pop culture artists were African American at the time of the movement. They were sending a message to everyone to help them recognize what was happening to African Americans during the civil rights movement. People realized the problem and started to do something about it. This led to boycotts, protests, and later rights for African Americans in the South and even the North. Today, pop culture is a big part of the society because it sends a powerful message to everyone about what's going on through a song. America is still not perfect and has segregation to a certain point and people are still trying to stop segregation by sending a message to others with songs to start another movement. We could have another civil rights movement today like in 1955-1968 if we really It wouldn't stop all segregation but it would help it to a certain point.
